ASEAN Chair

The Chairmanship of ASEAN shall rotate annually, based on the alphabetical order of the English names of Member States.

The Chair of ASEAN for the year 2010 is Viet Nam. Viet Nam’s theme for their Chairmanship is “Towards the ASEAN Community: from Vision to Action”. The year 2010 marks the 15th year of Viet Nam’s accession to ASEAN.

Thailand assumed the Chairmanship of ASEAN in 2009. Brunei will assume the Chairmanship of ASEAN in 2011.
